Neighborhood: Murray Hill
Murray Hill is a neighborhood on the east side of Midtown Manhattan. Located between east 34th and 42nd Street, between 5th/Madison Avenue and the East River, Murray Hill is filled with numerous restaurants, hip cafes, high end shops and great apartments.
While it is known for its very active nightlife, its tree-lined blocks, converted carriage houses, stately brownstones and good schools make Murray Hill a great area for families, as well as young professionals.
Because of it central location and its close proximity to Grand Central Station, it is a very desirable area for professionals working in midtown.
Fun Note: Because of the high volume of Indian restaurants, some refer to Murray Hill as “Curry Hill.”
