Neighborhood: Tribeca

by William Bekisz

TriBeCa stands for the "Triangle Below Canal Street. "Home of the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca is an upscale neighborhood located between Canal Street, West Street, Broadway and Chambers Street.

Much like SoHo, Tribeca has wide cobble stone streets and is dominated by glorious old cast-iron industrial buildings converted into beautiful residential apartments and lofts.

Tribeca could be considered the best place to live in the city. It enjoys minuscule crime levels, great schools, tons of transit, well-planned waterfront access, and light-filled loft-type apartments in painstakingly rehabbed industrial buildings. But having already overtaken the Upper East Side as the city’s richest precinct, it is prohibitively expensive. (New York Magazine)
